Hi, I'm Jack Davies
IT engineer based in Manchester. I work with Microsoft Intune, M365 and Azure day-to-day, and I write about it here. Four years of MSP experience, a handful of certs, and a homelab that keeps growing.
Background
I'm an IT Technical Engineer with a background in MSP work and a genuine interest in cybersecurity. I spend most of my time working with Microsoft Intune, M365 and Azure, and I'm currently studying Cyber Security at the Open University alongside my day job.
I've worked at three MSPs over the past four years, including Lansafe Ltd and Blowfish Technology before my current role at Anntech Group Ltd. That background means I've dealt with a pretty wide range of environments, from small businesses getting set up on Microsoft 365 for the first time to larger organisations with more complex setups.
IT moves fast and the best way to keep up is to actually build things, break them, and write about what you learn. That's part of why this site exists.

Career path
Four MSP years doing it all. M365, Azure AD migrations, DrayTek/Cisco/WatchGuard networks, VoIP, Proxmox, SQL/IIS servers, and project lead on new client onboardings. First real exposure to the scale of what an MSP handles.
Deeper focus on Intune and endpoint security. Full-cycle project deployments, RMM setup, Conditional Access policies, and acting as the technical link between vendors and clients. Lots of SQL and IIS troubleshooting.
Current role at a fast-paced MSP covering networking, cybersecurity, telephony and M365 across a wide client portfolio. Based in Skelmersdale, hybrid across sites. Building on everything that came before.
Studying cybersecurity formally alongside full-time work. Covers cryptography, ethical hacking, network security, digital forensics and system hardening. Adds academic rigour to what's already being done day-to-day.
